Jolanta Grotowska-Leder Associate Professor, Institute of Sociology, University of Lodz, the head of Extramural Professional Courses in Applied Sociology. Member of International Sociological Association (ISA), European Sociological Association (ESA) and CROP (Comparative Research on Poverty). Her major research and teaching fields are: sociology of poverty and social exclusion, sociology of unemployment, social deviance and social policy at local and global levels. Since 1990 she was participating in many projects on poverty and social exclusion awarded by the Scientific Research Committee. Now the coordinator of the project on “Social network and local partnership in counteracting social exclusion and intergenerational transmission of poverty”. She was granted several prices for outstanding research by the Rector of UL and Marshal of Lodz City. She is author and editor of 6 monographs and article collections and of 50 articles in scientific journals.
